ZD30 shut down air filter pop noise

Hey all,

I don't know if it's my paranoia raging on but...
When my 2004 STR ZD30 shuts down it makes a popping/puffing noise which I've narrowed down to the standard butterflies and the air filter. I was use to the butterfly shut down pop noise and thought this was normal.

Is it normal to get like a back draft/air pushed back into the air filter or is something more sinister in the mix?

My 04 does the same thing.

i would expect to get some air being pushed back after it bounces off the closed butterfly.

As long as I'm not the only one I guess I'll quit worrying?

hard to say. noises are a difficult thing to deal with over the net.
i havn't noticed, but then again can't hear much over the rest of the noise.

the only other thing i can think off that would push air back is if the intake valve clearances where to tight. ie valve seat recession and now the valve doesn't seal.
check the valve clearances some time.
