Just joined, Can any one offer some advice on an engine up grade for a 1986 model d21 navara with a sd25 motor with turbo fitted. Something turboed would be nice as I carry a slide on camper and tow a boat regularly. Having trouble with old motor bypassing head gasket between no1 & 2 cylinders and pressurising the cooling system.
any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums!

If you know it's a head gasket, I suppose the cheapest solution is replace it. Other than that, I can't help much with what might fit in the D21. There are some here who might, good luck!

I don't know much about the D21 engine options either, there is a couple of conversion threads in the D21 section though.

Hey mate, the SD25 head doesn't take to turbo's to well.

A TD27T is a good upgrade, pretty strong motor that is designed for a turbo.
