Is it a timing or air issue

so we replaced the cylinder head on our zd30 put it all back together and it wouldnt start.
We took the injectors out and and turn the motor over and we could see diesel spraying out all injecctors so we pulled it all down again to check the timing and as far as we can tell its all good.

the way we set the timing when pulling it off was by lining up the yellow chain piece with the bottom mark on the fuel injection pump sprocket and on the cam sprocket lined up the 2 blue chain pieces up the top with the 2 marks and had it all lined up on an angle.

After doing that we pulled it all off but we did mark on the cam sprockets what position they were in before pulling them off with nail polish.

did we miss doing something?
how do we reset the timing if we got it all wrong?

to be honest im not sure i no the timing mark is lining up on the pulley n where the crank angle sensor is. when we had the front cover off we tried lining up the marks cc but all could get was dd no matter how much we tried to line it up.so we lined all the timing marks up again on the cam sprockets ( yellow n blues ones ) and put it all back together.there is nothing hitting on the inside as we can turn the motor over with no tight spots.

thanks for that dave, we tried like 6 times to find the letters and line them up with no luck. The only letters we managed to line up close enough on fuel injection pump gear was c/dd, we couldnt find cc to much up, so when we had c/dd almost lined up we turn the motor quite a few times to line the yellow and blue timing marks and left it there.

If the timing mark on the crankshaft pully is lining up doesnt that mean its a TDC?

before we replace the glow plugs we were going to put a set of jumper leads on n than try it was told the motor might not be turning quick enough
