Injecter pump change over gear moved

Hay guys
I'm helping the bro inlaw change an injection pump over the gear that the pump drives inside the motor has moved its the gear with the outer gear in it with timeing marks on it what dose it of and how can I get it back to were its ment to be to get the timeing back to were its ment to be

Yeah got all the marks but the gear that the ip spins the other part of the gear I can turn it back

Why would the front part of idler gear spin freely

The front part shouldn't spin freely it should be sprung to help reduce gear chatter and backlash in them. If its completely free spinning its probably shot.
