Was just under my d40 and I really can't see the cat convertor I have 2 pics the first I thought was a flexible joint and the second I'm pretty sure is the muffler.can someone clarafy if a late 08 kingcab has a cat? Every car that comes from any manufacturer (apart from electric vehicles) has a catalytic converter. Unless you've removed yours, it's still in there. Of course, if you HAVE an electric vehicle and the dealer says they need to service the CAT, they're actually after the other kind of cat and it's advisable to keep your wife OUT of their workshop so they don't work on hers.

CATs have to be reasonably close to the exhaust manifold. In order to convert the oxides, a certain amount of heat is needed, as well as reductant (diesel fuel, unleaded fuel or adblue).
