Vin numbers

Do vin's tell you where the car was built? as in like spain or Thailand.
Is there a clear indication when looking to buy or do you need to view the id plate.

A vin starting with vsk is Spain

VSK is Spain, MNTV(I think) is Thai.

Visually the easiest way to tell is all that models have aerial on the front left guard are Thai. All Spanish built have small aerial on the roof.

It gets a bit confusing when early RX are Spain, late are Thai.
Early ST are Thai, late are Spain.
All ST-X are Spanish, all KC are Thai.

Clear as mud.
