mine has the exact same noise. when i first bought the nav there was no noise but same day the snorkel was fitted it started. i just put it down to excess movement in the extra piping. the pain i had trying to buy my car i just put up with the noise.

So the nav went into the dealer for the 1000 k service, nothing has been fixed!!! They bored out the mount holes in the tub liner and then tried to cover it with big washers, the tub it's self is still crooked and they said they can't get it to line up ..!!!!! As for the vibration they think it's the snorkel but they really don't know !!!! Should have bought a hilux!!!!!!!!!

There was a post on here a little while ago stating on the D22 2.5 a heat shield under the cab up the front was vibrating, fixed with a hose clamp i believe? Try and search for it.

They don't do anything at the 1000km service, just check all bolts and do a once over.

I would book it in and demand if it's not fixed for them to at least supply another tub.

My old disco had the same issue, strong vibration at 2250rpm. As the car drove away you could hear it from kerbside. Some of it was harmonic resonance from flexible section of exhaust under the turbo, the remainder was engine mounts. Tighten both, rattle gone, then it would slowly reappear. Engine mount issue was collapsing rubbers.

had mine in last Monday, they could not fix it, said it may be the snorkel, ill disconnect the snorkel when I get time and see if that's it, what a pain....

I still can find that thread, do you remember what it was called?

This is what you do:
1st- Write a letter stating you want a reply within 14 days to the dealer principal of the dealership you bought the car off, stating all the problems and its not satisfactory and you want the car exchanged for new. Send the letter via registered post so you have a copy of the recipt and proof they recived it.

2nd- Ring your insurance company telling them about the damage on the car and ask them who is liable for the repairs.

3rd- Ring Nissan Australia make a complaint about the problems, email them all your photos and a copy of the letter you gave to the d,ealer tell them you dont want it fixed you want a new car.

4th- Ring consumer affaifs and tell them whats going on and you want a new car from the final outcome, you may have to go to court but no biggie.

I got screwed over when i bought my Nav, these are pretty much the steps i took to get my new car, if you wanna get in contact with me for any questions pm and ill send you my number.

This is really bad to hear. Are these the Thai built d22's or the special edition jap built d22's? My 2012 special edition doesn't seem to have any weird vibrations and I've put 7500km's on it in 3 months. Touch wood it stays this way

Mines jap and now has 6000kms on it no weird noises my only complaint is.with a steel bullbar the front suspension is now pretty much sitting on bump stops ;/

If you think the snorkel could be the cause a quick halfass way to check would be pull the head off the snorkel and go for a drive with just an open hole at the top. i know on my old rodeo the induction sound was different with the ram head facing backwards compared to forwards and different again without a head at all. if you run it without the head and the vibration noise changes in pitch or feel its a good indicator to say that the snorkel is the cause. like i said it was different on my old rodeo doesnt mean it will change on a nav but worth a try for the minute it will take to pop the ram head off

After I got your reply saying you had no snorkel, I went straight out and unbolted the air filter housing, then pulled it away from the snorkel, no more harmonic vibration at 2500 RPM, cant believe it, its a genuine nissan snorkel fitted by the dealer so ill have to book it in to get checked out properly, ill try taking the head off to see if that makes any difference, its a large hole with mesh, get back to ya ;)

Hopefully it's an easy fix mate. I've Only had my Nissan steel bar on for a month now so I'll see how the front suspension goes but I'm guessing it won't be long till its sagged. By that time I'd say the rear will be to because I have my work trailer constantly on the back during the week.

Looks like suspension lift soon haha

Update for u all, after being told by the dealer they would call in a weeks time after they had spoke to Nissan about the warranty issues what do u think happend ?.... You Guest it nothing , so I called the dealer , 3 times ... 3 times they didn't return my call !!!!!! So fuck them I went and called Nissan Australia ,turns out they they had not even contacted Nissan about the warranty issues. So I lodged a complaint with Nissan and gues what ??? The dealer returned my call and are being ever so helpful now . I have to take the nav back this Friday so a specialist technition ( apparently) can go over the truck with me and inspect all the problems...

This afternoon i disconnected the snorkel and the vibration is gone , hook it up again and it vibrates the shit out of the vehicle ....... So it is definitely a snorkel issue . On inspection the pipe from the filter housing back along the inner guard is tiny and extremely restrictive .
