Ive noticed in the colder weather the engine in the nav is rougher running in the first few seconds on start up and blows out a bit of white smoke (not steam)
Any ideas on this
thanks

How many km,s. Glow plugs would be high on the list, try glowing it a second or third time before start up, and see if it makes a difference

glow plugs. it takes a long time for an engine to cool down, so it may still be warm enough to start ok later on.
or air being sucked into fuel pipes or fuel filter restriction and/or primer one way valve not working.

failing all that, leaking turbo. white smoke can be oil seeping into the exhaust.

before foring out for new plugs (easy enough job to do tho), check the wire that goes to them, see if the connector is burn out, or if any of the nuts are loose, this happened to a mates troll, he kept getting hard star issues, and white smoke, we found the nut on his glow plug rail was loose (only finger tight), we cleaned the connection, and did the nut up correctly, and his problem went away took all of about 5 minutes...

Thy're on to off the engine, drivers side, connected together by a flat bar.
