As we are all aware the clutches in the D40 are not the best. I replaced the clutch in my 2007 V6 D40 today and straight away i noticed that the idle speed has increased to aroun 1000 rpm when hot. On a cold morning on start up it sits at around 1500rpm for about 5 min. Its quit dangerous when driving as on the gear changes the revs do not drop at all so you end up talking you foot of the clutch at around 3000 rpm. My Machanic thinks it may be because of the single mas flywheel replacement being much lighter. Can anyone advise if they have heard of this and how to fix the problem

I would have thought that the "choke" is controled by the computer and how would replacing the clutch have an affect on this

The choke can be controlled by whatever you like, but if it isn't opening or closing properly it will impact the idle until warm (when the choke, of course, no longer operates).
