Hi ya all, Love my D40. Lookign forward to getting into the outback. My expectations so far are that the vehicle is better than my old 2003 STR. Trouble free in 220k, although I thought the extra gear in forward may have contributed to some nicer fuel figures. Currently 750kms out of the 80kks tank. It odes have a 2inch lift kit and does weigh a bit more.
I would like to get other opinions on fuel economy.

Welcome to the forum. In general, auto D40s fuel economy is average, but manuals are good.
