I have just recently taken delivery of a D40 Stx - black & chrome, beautiful!!
This coming October I am off around Oz towing my caravan with all the other grey nomads. But first, amongst other things, I need a couple of recovery hooks for when I go way off road. Just in case I need to rescue a toyota in distress. Can anyone tell me if there are any hooks out there that are ready made to fit the D40?

Hi mate, welcome to the forums.

If the D40 is the same as the D22 the existing holes in the chassis are around 72mm between centres, apparently the Patrol is the same so a wrecker may be in order to find a couple (thats what i am doing). The small recovery hook with keeper that you see around the place (Supercheap, ARB etc just rebadged) is too small and needs a new hole/nut put into teh chassis rail.
