(1) STRUGGLING to find a manual for the direct injection Australian delivery, 30L turbo, any ideas please??

(2) with a well serviced 280K Navara, started one morning, went 30M, cut out as if I stalled it. Cranked fast, but will NOT fire again.
(a) Primer on top of filter is not going ROCK hard, but outlet is delivering clean diesel
(b) started for a few seconds with "Areostart."
(c) has got power to the injector pump and a good earth, a 6 wire pin 12V, 10V and 2, and 3 V at other pins..??
(d) only other item over the last week was a hard break pedal, that I suspect is the vacuum pump
(e) Glow plugs al work and till that problem ( cut out) always super easy to start, and good power.

Your suggestions please and a link to workshop manuals to sit this model if someone had it please
thanks

primer should go rock hard check back to tank and fuel weeping ,search on forum for air leaks in fuel suction lines. you may need to put in electric pump do a search here. my 1998 has a small filter in fuel delivery nut .into pump, could be completely blocked

there is an aussie site with the manuals. a navara specialist. can't recall address at the mo.

if its completely dead and no error codes, its rather common for the ecu in the injection pump to fail.
a bit of an expensive rebuild required.

computer controlled diesels always stop fuel going through rail when there is a fault perhaps there may be a bypass to over ride this, does any one know .. to determine this as i said above i slacken fuel nut at the inject to see if air bubbles with fuel and how much its leaking ,WARNING dont ever use your fingers to test pressure , you will end up injecting fuel into you hand , dont have your face to close ,wear eye protection

Not uncommon for early VP pumps to give up the ghost randomly. The VP is not a great pump to play around with, but if you narrow it down to that, call a Bosch injection specialist for unfo and diag

Was that car fitted with the dreaded Bosch VP44? This pump has been mentioned here a few times a little unfavourably. It's not cheap to replace either - eBay lists them from $500 (second hand) to over $3K (refurbished). You can get repair kits for about $120 (here).

Which way you jump will depend on the fault, your wallet and personal mechanical competence (and ability, I can't any more because arthritis doesn't want me to).

its the vp44. there are in use in other makes/models as well. they where a cheap option to common rail and made more pressure than the early common rail.

its not something you should fix yourself. they need to be run on a test rig and have its ecu programmed to suit.

Howdy, mine stoped like that, fired her up no probs, idling then a flutter and died... are y oh sure she's not throwing codes?

2,500 grand and some work to install, Do your timing chain whilst your there.. look on here for part suppliers, try Partsouq or amayama for cheap oem parts.. replace all the bolts to gears etc and special note on the seal washers for the injector pump....
