If i park the car on an incline, even a small incline, front higher than rear, the diesel seems to drain out of the system. and i have to pop the bonnet and pump the priming bulb to get the diesel back up so the engine starts and runs. What prevents this in the fuel system? Seems to be getting worse. Cheers

There's a small air leak in the system. Thankfully it's a piece of cake to find - just keep squeezing the primer bulb. The system will pressurise to the point where diesel will start coming out.

Typical causes of leaks:

* Water trap not tightened properly - the electrical connector should perfectly line up with the knurled knob.
* Hoses not clamped properly. They shouldn't be too loose, or too tight as pinching the hose with the clamp will actually cause it to form a small gap.
* Aged hoses cracking. Also check around the engine as heat will accelerate the deterioration of rubber.

Cheers mate. Found the problem. Doing exactly that and it was the primer bulb which was cracked in the ends where it clips in to the holders!
