Hi all, I have a 2008 D40 Long Way Down which is just coming up to 100K.
Have had it for 4 years and on the whole it has been great. One thing really bugs me with it and has done since I bought it. Under moderate to hard acceleration the accelerator pedal makes a really strange plastiky creaking noise. It is fine under gentle acceleration and if you sit with the engine off and mash the pedal I can't hear it either.
It seems to be when you pull away sharply and start to ease back on the pedal that it occurs. I have looked at the pedal box and all seems tight and have also sprayed a bit of GT85 randomly around it some vein hope of resolution. I don't do a lot of motorway miles (we dont have any motorways here) but last time I did I also noticed that when pulled on a uphill gradient at 70 ish I was getting a wierd fluttery sound from the same place. The sound seems very 'close' i.e. in the cabin and down in the drivers footwell.
Has anyone else ever experienced this or know what I can do to find it??
Many thanks!
