Somewhere in the middle had a stretch in adventure travel, youth work, outdoor education. Great life style but lousy career, so back in to IT.

Nowadays i just do projects and try to get away camping a bit more.

Spent 13 years in the hotel industry, here and in the UK and NZ, most of the time as a porter/concierge. Had a ball, great social life, heaps of stories, great tips but no future!

Finish my Diploma in Turf Management this September, can't wait!
Cheers, Marcus

Running my own business for the last four and a half years. Previously was a Plant operator in Pharma running 40K rpm ultracentrifuges for virus concentration. Also large SCADA managed filtration plants. A few years in the food industry after that.
Started a retail custom picture framing shop in 2007 from scratch. Made a profit straight up and was heading towards a strong business until my son got in the way. I now run the business as full mobile service with enough work from the loyal clientele to keep me scratching my head.
The wife is a career girl so i'm happy scaling back to pocket money for a while.

^ I did that for a few months.

Didn't like standing on the little platform when the poles moving.

So went into electrical on the ground and Comm's.

My mate still does it. He makes a killing.

I hear ya... I will make any excuse to keep my feet on the ground, it's amazing how much a power pole moves. Do you do the civil stuff or the domestic. My boss won't say but I've heard the civil side of it is almost having a licence to print money...

Use to do apartment blocks and then worked at a Raaf base for a bit. Got sick of lazy tradesmen so went and worked a mate for a few years.

He went back to wages, however we use to get stuff done quick and made some good money.

Been doing Comm's for 6 years now, mainly Telstra exchange work. Its all indoors and air conditioned and I can work when I want.

Its funny really, everyone whinges about Telstra. However Telstra are constantly improving the network.

Optus, TPG, AAPT, IINET etc only spend the money on there equiopment. Telstra upgrade the link between exchanges etc.

If it wasn't for Telstra, no one outside a Capital city would have ADSL really.
