After doing a gasket job I was going to install the old chain until I saw this. I don't remember it being this loose when I pulled it out but didn't really take much notice.
It does explain the slapping when I first start it up and the cam timing being slightly out on the diagnostic tool.
When I get back home I’ll change out everything for a duplex setup. Work has kept me away from home for months so a timing/valve/gasket job that should of taken a a day or 2 has turned into 6 months. The joys of doing this stuff yourself. It’s not my daily driver so it can sit for however long it needs to.
