gday all
ive got a 2011 d22 with a 2 inch efs lift kit thats been in for about 6 months now. i know its prob been answered somewhere but i cant really find it in the search bar but the front end has sagged a fair bit on it since i got the kit and all i have is a tjm steel bar and the stock dual batteries in the front end. Is this common for the efs bars or is there something different about mine? ive looked at the bumps and ive got about 10 to 15mm gap on both sides. Is the solution just to wind the bars up a bit or are some heavier duty bars needed because i dont wanna think about whats going to happen when i go to put a winch in. Ive got 32's on and they already sit pretty close to scrubbing and id rather not have to pound it just to fit some 32's.

i have same car with efs lift
i also purchased efs h/d torsion bars
i believe mine is a bit soft in the front end
i have steel bar/winch/bash plates and dual batteries
however i dont blame the t/bars
i blame the rebound with average shockies
its simply a case of you get what you pay for
i am planning on changing the front efs shocks with dobsons or koni's
that should sort it out

hey dave, whats the dia. of the tough dog bars?
my bluemax tb's are the same as stock, they feel stiffer but a bit stiffer wouldn't hurt i think.

Not 100% sure. Will have to go out and check.

Gotta change a CV boot when I get around to it. Sigh.

It would be interesting to see how much of a difference a couple of mm in diameter can make. So i guess I'll have to start lookin at some different tbars sometime in the near future

Thanks for asking this question Steve. I too am interested in the solution to this problem, as I have experienced the exact same problem with efs torsion bars. I haven't investigated what the effect of winding them up further would be, perhaps one of the suspension gurus (zordo?) can provide some advice / solution?

I asked a few of the specialists at Tjm and arb as well as the suspension guys that fitted them and they all seem to reckon its the nature of torsion bars. I'm well aware of this but I still believe some are stiffer than others though its just a matter of finding out which is best. They all seem to be around 350 for a pair. On another note I compared some product numbers and found the efs number is tb1446a and the tough dog is wtb1446 which makes me think some are the exact same. All a bit confusing really

i got ironman hd bars in mine, they seem a little bit soft but that might be because the rear is stiff as if theres nothing in there

27mm Steve.

What are yours, checked with the Vernier caliper.

mine are 26mm, most of the others seem to be the same including the stock.

so maybe look at the tough dogs if your looking for something heavy duty.
