Doing a little of my own research here and cant find a single thread which shows different options and has decent info on wiring locations, isolators, battery size used and where and why they were mounted.
So show us ya Dual Battery Setups, i miss having a cold tinny on hand all the time.

i have a Redarc DC-DC charger in mine ( i dont have the smart alternator but wanted hassle free charging )
Powering up two 125AH Deep cycle batteries,
They are in the back of the tub, behind the water tank.

I have a king cab so I ripped out the back seats and built a custom box to house my arb air compressor red arc solenoid optima battery all my recovery gear and my engle sits on top. Works really well. Check out my garage for pics.
 
Haha I am in the same boat going to try and do this soon. I am opting to fit the battery under the bonnet where my pre-cleaner used to be, and I think Ill just use an isolator system, as my power needs arent huge and they seem to work for most people. Ill just charger the battery with a mains charger every now and then

Yes it is tight but it will work, thats the only reason i mounted the kn cone filter in so i got room for batteri.

But i am only using the batteri for start help when i use the webasto in winter time an for extra batteri time on lightnig..
