G"day all.
Some father son bonding time ahead of us..... Sons Spanish 2007 D40 YD25 Navara has cooked itself, found a donor engine second hand with only 98000 kms on it. The donor is also a Spanish D40 YD25, but this ones a 2010 Engine (both manual G'boxes).
This will be a complete engine change with all the other bits and bobs as well (turbo, Injector and pump, etc etc), hoping a plug and play solution.

Can anyone see any issues with this plan being a later year model engine?

Cheers
Scotty

Hi Scotty,

Sorry about the delay in getting to you.

I can't see a problem, since both cars are very, very similar (most parts fit, and the manual suits 2006-2010 models). I'd say you're very unlikely to have a problem, but I would ensure that you take the ECU as well just so that the injector registrations come along.

Let us know how it goes!

Cheers
Tony

Thanks Tony.
However I’ve since decided to rebuild the existing engine, starting next week.
For only a couple grand more, I know the condition of the engine and it comes with 12 months warranty from the builder. Will also put in new injectors, when the lad earns some more $$ we will also put in a new aftermarket turbo.
expecting a total cost of about $8k then plus the turbo later.
Thanks for the advice anyway.
Cheers
Scotty
