Gear ratios between the zd and yd are completely different as a mate of mine has an 07 D22 2.5 and his sits below 2500rpm at 100 however mine which is an 03 3.0 at 100 sits around 2750. Both same stock size tyres etc.

should be the other way around then by that logic meaning you have 4.626 diffs and he has the 4.375 diffs.

180...what I have been lead to believe is that the 2012 Jap built 2.5 is NOT the same as the ZD30..as per previous posts
pretty sure it is.

I have owned 3 D22's an 06 ZD30, 08 YD25 and 10 YD25 all of them had the same gear ratios however I would like to be proven wrong and see nissan go back to 4.626.

I've got a September 2012 built D22.

My compliance plate reads:

FS5R3OA CA39

So am I correct in believing I have a R180 front diff, R200 rear diff with 3.9 ratios?

if the logic is what has been suggested --then yes

beats the hell outa me when I have the have the hard copies of the data sheets from Nissan that state 4.625

we should all compare speeds in 4th gear instead of 5th since its basically a 1:1 from engine to gearbox.

see if we can get some sort of baseline at like 2000rpm.

in 4th gear @2000rpm speeds for a 265/75r16 tyre should be

3.9: 78km/h

4.375: 69km/h

4.625: 66km/h

Gazza what rpm are you at 100km/h (GPS speed)?

I have got 33' tyres on which certainly doesn't help if I have 3.9's.

But at the moment I'm sitting at 2500rpm...

My larger tyres have brought my speedo back to being spot on. It's about by less then 2%

Mattie ca39 is 3.9 ratio as for diffs as i replied to your pm before you will have a r180a 27spline front and c200 31spline rear.

Thats identical revs/speed to my ZD30 powered D22 which has 265/75r16

Guys, think we need to post what d22 you have with all these diff ratio's

ie 4x2's single cabs, 4x4 single, 4x4 dual cabs etc

Matt , checked this morning on the way to work--forgot to hook up the Scan tool to OBD2 plug

however GPS reading steady at 100km/hr was exactly 110km/hr on the speedo and the tacho read ( judgement call ) ~ 2650 to 2700 rpm

I took a pic too on my iphone

Hi i had been looking into putting a r200 in the front of my 02 zd30 d22. The vin plate said it was ca46 which didnt sound right and after a bit of info off of here i decided to pull the cover off the rear diff and it turns out its a ca43 so i recommend checking when ya change diff oils then you no for sure

To revive this old thread... Blew up my front diff last weekend on the tracks. Read the issue with the compliance plates and thought I'd better rip it out and count it before I ordered a new one. Called Nissan dealer where my car was originally sold and they said they had 4.6 on paper, but it was a general guide and they weren't too confident.... Especially when I told them the compliance plate said 3.9...

Lo and behold - compliance plate says CA39, indicating 3.9 ratio diff. Took the diff out and counted the number of rotations on the drive connection (pinion) vs the number of rotations on the wheels connection (ring) and counted 4.6!

Ridiculous from Nissan....
