Me.hey guys
hav you heard of any one changing there leafs in the back to coils springs but keeping the same diff n not going a patrol one?
no reason you cant keep the same diff? just depends how much fabricating you want to do.
Me.
You can't keep the same diff. Nissan did make a C200 coil axle assembly but only in Japan and they never come over here in imports for some reason. You can put a D21/R50 Pathfinder rear coil assembly in but I'm also fitting the Pathfinder rear fuel tank so I can avoid the fuel tank issues. As Dave said you have to go to the Pathfinder diff but there's no problem with that. Same width and everything.
I was told once that Ford Telstar coil springs are good for this mod, their shape is ideal for the application and it's easy to make mounts or something. Second hand information, never seen such a mod myself.also i was thinking of mabe going a coil over leaf setup so take out all the leafs except for one or two to keep the diff lined up then just weld support on to the chassis for the coil and also mod the leaf to fit the coil? wat do you think? plus i heard that u can get some leafs that are built to flex but not so much to carry weight?
4 link in the rear was easy as. had it all ground back and tacked in place in 2 days. but i didnt use coils.. places like locktup sell coilmounts tho off the top of my head.
yea you might be able to put it where the spare tyre goes, depends on size and shape i guess. mines going above the chassis rails.
depends what link set up you go. prob best to take some measurements and get some designs and work it out but its doable. Just cant give you a diffinitive answer to a broad question
Go to the R50 Pathfinder rear diff if your going to the effort as they are coil and the diff was used in V6 Navara's (H233B).
As far as I know there has never been a coil C200 made by Nissan so will require more engineering.
Dave.
