air to air or water to air intercoolers?

im going to be fitting an intercooler very soon, just wondaring thoughs on what type would be best,
and what temp aprox does the intake get without an intercooler?

i was leading more towards a water to air setup being less piping and effective at low speeds

somthing like this, i can make and weld all the piping

water-air can be good but is costly. i would be wary of the quality of some. its one thing you do not want to leak.
while water-air works better at low speeds than air-air it can't match air-air performance at normal speeds. i would suspect most of those cheap cores are not ideal for water-air intercooler. you really have to ask yourself how much high power slow speed driving do you do.
