What rating Snatch Strap?

Have a King Cab D40. See Rays outdoors have a an 8000KG kit for sale $99. From what I have read. It's best to purchase one that is 2-3 times the GVM. My camping gear is prolly only 200KG all up.

Next size down is a 5000Kg. Do you think that is to light on? I understand there no point having one rated to high as wont stretch enough and to have the desired effect give to much shock load.

I'd go the 8000Kg one. The 5000Kg one would probably stretch too much if 2.5T of car was chassis-deep in mud.

Definitely go the 8000kg one.

Always remember a synthetic sling or flat web recovery snatch strap has a safety rating to 75% of its full capacity so if it's marked as a 8000kg rating you a have a extra 25% up your sleeve.

I used a 10,000 Kg Snatch to tow a Suzuki Alto. (Not a good combination)
I think the 5,000 Kg would do an excellent job. It (the 5000 Kg) may be to big for some applications.

^towed a Suzuki alto , snatch strap would have been fine as you were towing a tiny tin can

Ended getting the one on special. 8,000 Kg, jobby. Hope I never have to use it.
