Hi all, I had bought an Spanish 07 d40 navara which has a turbo problem, paid for a replacement at a local mechanic, no good, got it replaced again under warranty, still won’t make boost.
Had it serviced by a different mechanic and asked them to check, they said it’s not making boost and it’s an internal turbo issue.
Went back to mechanic that replaced turbo, they said it’s working but they suspect something wrong with the clutch, resulting in very slow acceleration.
Could that be the case? Gone through two turbos and hasn’t made boost at all, very slow acceleration, lots of black smoke out the exhaust. Service checklist explained everything is ok except the turbo.
Not sure what to believe or what to do.
Thanks guys

vac lines split, map sensor, split boost hose or intercooler, BCS they should have checked all of that before replacing turbo though so wouldnt take back to them, put in first hand brake on and let clutch out one of checking for clutch slip, clutch slip wouldn't account for the black smoke unless you are absolutely flooring it

Currently waiting to take it to a mechanic, but a mate had an idea to bypass the boost solenoid. The turbo started spooling but as soon as it got up to 2.5k revs it would start squealing very high pitched.
