I think the punishment is fair enough, but it won't make the sides who lost premierships to them any happier. I kind of disagree with the part about them not being able to earn any points for the rest of the year. I think that they should be able to start earning points once they have fallen in line with the rules, at the very least it will make it worthwhile going to their games (both home and away). That's my uninformed opinion.
I hope none of the top players get bans, because otherwise QLD will be stuffed in State of Origin (Slater, Cronk, Smith, Ingliss - arguably 4 of QLD's best players....)
I bet they aren't the only team though, and all the others will be scurrying like mad to make sure their books are in order - or at least well hidden....haha.
I don't mind the Storm, never had anything against them, and I love the city of Melbourne, but I don't think they should hold any state of origin matches down there. They can't even fill the stadium, and most Melbourne people couldn't care less about NRL. On the flipside they could hold all 3 state of origin games on the same day in either Sydney or Brisbane and fill the stadium every game. I realise they're just trying to increase the NRL footprint but I do get quite pissed off when there are thousands of empty seats in Melbourne for state of origin, and I would give lefty to be at the game if it was in Brisbane. Luckily I got tickets this year without parting with any of the jewels.
