I have a 06 d40 stx and am looking at converting manual 2 auto. Has any 1 done this or know what's involved and guesstement on prices. I am keen on the newer autos with the manual shifting thing also what would b some upgrades to the box while it's out.

I think this has been asked for other models before and the general answer was cost v effort was not worth it due to the number of changes and legalities, not sure newer models would be any easier. I doubt it's impossible but maybe not practical.

I have only ever converted early model vehicles so no help to you.

It's not just the box that needs to change. The ECU in your car may not listen to the module in the auto gearbox, so that may change and as a result the security in your key may not work (Nissan can re-code this, I think I've read somewhere).

If you can get a specialist to do the lot, that's the way I'd do it.

Yeah was planning on getting a shop 2 do it. Does any1 know what's the go with the autos like what's best 2 up grade or what's weak.

Total nightmare, just trade the manual model in on an auto, and use the $15,000 you save on buying a boat/holiday, or maybe just set it on fire, at least that way it would keep you warm.
