G'day everyone, long time lurker. Rare poster.

Here is my 2004 D22, I bought it one year ago and it had everything that made it worthwhile being
Less than 200,00 klms
Towbar (planned to purchase a horse float)
Brake assist (as above)

And other things that were bonuses -
UHF, builders racks, exhaust, chip, cd player

First thing I did was put some lights on it. Overkill, yes. At the time I thought it was a fantastic idea. And those of you in the know will recognise the Ebay cheapies. If I was to do it again, 2 x spot HID's and a light bar.
Doesn't mean to say that these things don't go well; it's just more attention that is dragged to the car with some mods that I don't want investigated too closely.

So far, I haven't done a lot too it mechanically except for removed the mufflers, EGR block, that other thingo with the vaccuum hoses, but then I put them back as I didn't see the point.

But in the last two weeks I finally got around to reviving the tired standard suspension. 2" dobinsons, 2" Zordo's body and a set of 33's.
Now she sits how I always liked.

Got a stereo upgrade/install. Nothing serious just some splits and amplifier. Plan to put the sub in soon.

Future mods are -
Cat removed (tomorrow), EGT and Boost gauge install (tomorrow)
Rapid chip install (Friday)

And then that will have to do for a while as the 'leader of the opposition' might like me to stop spending money for a little bit. lol

Anyways, first outings planned this weekend. I have been out a couple of times, but nowhere serious. That will change this weekend.

If you see me around the sunny coast or at work near Chinchilla, please wave :)
Cheers
Matt

Which ebay cheapies did you go with and how is the light output? Are they HID?

G'day

The lights I bought were these ones
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PAIR-9-5..._Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f1a973005&_uhb=1

In my opinion the light output is fantastic. However some things to note are-

1- That particular seller was incredibly hard to deal with
2- The wiring harnesses that come with the lights are absolute trash. You will want to pull each join apart and re-solder them correctly. Or better yet, run your own harness.
3- Whilst they are an economical light to run, they draw a considerable amount of power to warm up. Therefore with my top lights I had to run a 6mm core wire to supply the warm up feed.

I am running 2 x spots on the front and 2 x spots on top with 2 x spreads on top as well

Good luck

thanks for the feedback on a dodgy ebayer
are you still running the std alternater with all those lights?
cheers

Yeah mate, still standard alternator. The lights themselves are worth every penny. If you want his spotties than I recommend them

Thanks for the feedback! I was looking at the HID ones from Sunyee. Heard they arent too bad!

Im looking at a set of them but in the 100W, then going to throw on a light bar, Bright Light Auto have bars at 50% off at the moment. Plus Sunyee have good bars aswell. As stated Sunyee are getting a good rep.

Well over the last few days I have fitted up the Boost and EGT gauges and i'm very happy with the result. Also I fabricated and fitted some front recovery points. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out also! :)

Took it up the beach on Sunday and had a blast, then spent ages on Monday pressure washing the underbody etc lol.

Heading back out to work for 21 days, so won't be playing around with it anytime soon. That and one of the dogs has gotten pretty crook so that will put a dampener on the spending also.
