factory dual battey isolation

Q1 ...2012 d22 with factory fit dual batteries, can I put a redarc sb112 isolator on this 4wd to run accesories, or does it need to have both batteries wired up to work properly? Q2... why build it with 2 batteries in it if others only have 1 ????

Yes you can as long as you disconnect 2nd battery from alternator

The twin batteries are euro spec cars sent to Australia
There was no real need to remove 2nd battery so they left it in
Mine has been cranking with 1 battery for 12mths

Don't mean to hijack your forum but does anyone see an issue with chucking an isolator on before the second battery (direct from the alternator). Or should I remove this cable and wire it up from the cranking battery.. Hope this makes sense.
