Sorry i dont know the proper name of it so here a picture of what i am talking about. On the picture the one in the middle, what happens if i take that off and just run the exhaust straight? fuel economy? turbo sound? how much louder will my truck be?

So if you remove the muffler you will get a louder more deeper note and also some turbo noise. Most people see gains in boost by 1psi. A lot of people run straight through systems as they aren't really loud but turn heads.

G'day all, just installed 3 inch system to my 09 d22 hi tech mufflers in Sydney done it, stainless steel installed for$1500 also have chipit, the two have transformed car, just towed coromal camper to Darwin & has made massive difference.

run 2.5, straight, great drop in egt, nice note, and adds 2 psi

what is the stock diameter on the exhaust system?
will increasing the diameter on the down pipe cause the turbo to spool up slower?
