EGR / Swirl mod - hose crushed??

Been trying to sort out some overheating issues with my Nav. While flushing the radiator last night, I noticed one of the vacuum hoses had crushed. I've attached a drawing of the hose in question.

As this solenoid connects to the EGR actuator, I'm assuming it was causing it to stick wide open or closed.

I replaced the hose with a heavier one and took the ute for a drive on the highway.... it didn't overheat. (fingers crossed for now!)

Could be coincidence since I just flushed the radiator, however I'm curious if the crushed hose was causing or contributing to the overheating?

Could definitely be something for others to keep an eye on!

no it won't cause overheating. only thing that will happen is you won't get smooth engine shutdown.

Cheers.... the pic is stolen from somewhere on the forum... downloaded it when I did the mod! I did notice a couple times it was a little rough shutting down... guess that explains it!
