Diff ratios

Hi, Are the diff ratios the same for DX ZD30 and STr ZD30's? I have an 01 DX that does around 2050/2100rpms at 100Kph and an 05 STr that does around 2500rpm at 100Kph so they must have different ratios? One has 265/70x16 tyres and the other has 31's so around the same tyre size.

pretty sure they both have 4.375 ratios. you will find the larger 3.0L engine revs lower to make the same power as the 2.5L. Also they could have different 5th gear ratios. Tyre size wouldn't also make a difference 265/70/16 is a 30.6'' tire so bugger all difference.

if you look on the vin plate under the bonnet it will have something like HGXX, that number is the diff ratio, so if they are different then that answers your question... so, HG34 would be 4.375:1 diffs...

On my 2005 str ecutalk reads 300rpm lower than the tacho. Maybe the tacho on the 2001dx is more accurate?
