D22 str 2012 special edition?

I've even trying to find information as to why the 2012 d22str special edition is special, seems they have all the same features and specs. Anyone know what is special about them and what is the price difference?

hey matey i just got a brand newy last week, from what i was told its the black roll bar..
my dad got one two weeks ago and its just got the chrome bar

Nothing special about them besides the black bar. I believe the only reason they sold them as a special edition was when they had to take manufacturing back to Japan when the Thailand plant got hit in the floods. They have been back building them in Thailand again since about April. My special edition was 03/12 built and was the last built. This is what I was lead to believe anyway.

The specials only have single batteries too so the Thai is probably more special haha
