D22 question

HI guys new to the forum,
just an annoyin question. bout to buy a navara wonderin why the D40 has 126kw and the D22 has 98kw both with the yd25???? any help would be good thanks.

The power difference is because us D40 buyers need something to justify the extra cost because apparently there isn't much else appealing in a D40.

The D40 is probably a little heavier with the extra bits and pieces (1980Kg kerb weight for the dual cab, don't know the 2009 D22's weight). But you're getting a different turbo charger, a different intercooler.

I don't think there's a lot of difference attributable to the Spanish-built D40 STX Dual Cab vs the Thai-built D22 in power, because the D40 ST is a Thai build as well (not sure about the donk, but the car is definitely from Thailand).

I think both engines are "inhibited", meaning you could easily squeeze more out of them.

Thanks for all the help. Took matts advice and looked around n found D22 has different turbo,intercooler & comp tune apparently. prety stupid really!
