auto window up

Hey guys and gals,

I did a mod on my 80 series cruiser and it was great.
The drivers side window worked when the key was out of the ignition.
All i had to do was solder a diode on and trim back of the button.
I did a search but came up 0.

Any1 tried this

I've heard that you can do something around the fuse box, but I haven't looked into it. I really should, because it's a bloody annoying problem.

jaycar online has a nice little unit that puts all (up to 4) windows up one at a time when the car is locked. Works very well.

Should only have to run a new wire to them that is live all the time as the switch is already auto up and it already has the diod to turn it off when it gets to the top. So should only need a new wire run. This is my next mod in the next couple of weeks. I'll keep you tuned.

I believe this mod is as easy as bridging a relay, there is a thread on here somewhere which explains what to do. finding it is the tough part

I read the same thread almah was talking about. I think it started with an article in the 4wd Action mag. From memory the relay is behind the driver side kick panel??
