80 series airbox install

Hey guys i am doing the airbox mod tommorow and am just wondering if i take the fans out that are in the picture??the fans are in the lid.got the box out of a 1hz.will post up pics and a bit of a write up tommorow after install.
oh also im right that the stainless exhaust that ill use to extend the turbo intake pipe because of my body lift need to be 50mm od?
