    Horn upgrade

... and for best results, make sure I lick my finger first right?

    Horn upgrade

Hi Dex, Thanks heaps for the detailed and easy to digest explanation. It definitely helps put a couple of things right in my mind. Thanks, Steve

    Horn upgrade

Yeah OK, that was kinda my first thought too, about the current only being drawn for very short bursts so it wouldn't be a problem. Then I thought, well it blows a fuse in that amount of time, so maybe there's more to it. I've swapped the fuse over to a 15A, so we'll see how it goes. Part of...

    Horn upgrade

Thanks Sparra. I see you have a 2010 model, right? Do you happen to recall if the horn wiring was all the thin stuff I've described? I suspect so, but you never know where they chose to cut back to save a couple of cents on later models...

    Horn upgrade

Hi All, I've bought myself an upgrade to the "RoadRunner meep meep" stock horn for my 2012 D22. I thought this might be a good little project to educate myself a little bit about auto electrics. I'm struggling a little bit, and hope someone can help push me in the right direction? I read...

Wrong accessories on delivery - what would you do?

All's well that ends well. Got the tub swapped over and new tonneau fitted. Full tank of diesel (and I made damn sure it was empty!) and detail for my troubles and a loan car to get around in. The new style tonneau is awesome and I'm really glad I stuck to my guns to get that one. As well as...

Wrong accessories on delivery - what would you do?

Really... bloody hell that was fast. No such luck for me as yet, but they did say it might be early Jan and I was OK with that. Out of Interest, was anything said about the VIN in the back of the tub? I had another look at mine and it doesn't actually appear to be to whole VIN, but is certainly...

    Manual locking hubs

Cool. Nissan recommend driving the first 500km in free 2H. After that I'll give it a go running in free coz I won't be off roading all that often. I prefer the thought of being able to bang it into 4WD whenever I want without getting out of the cabin, but I'll take the fuel savings over the...

    Manual locking hubs

I think something *may* have clicked into place in my head after I typed out the question. Not sure if I can explain this without knowing all the correct terminology but is it something like this? With the hubs in the free position, they basically free wheel - right at the wheel itself. By...

    Manual locking hubs

Hi all, My 2012 D22 has the manual-lock free-running hubs. I managed to find a thread about the pro's and con's for running in the "lock" position 24/7, but I must confess to being a 4x4 noob and am still a bit confused by the concept. I'm assuming when you turn the hub to the lock position...

Wrong accessories on delivery - what would you do?

Yeah good point ST-R, I've noticed the number stamped into the tub and have been meaning to check the significance of it. So it's the VIN eh? That does make it a bit more interesting...

Wrong accessories on delivery - what would you do?

Thanks for everyone's replies. Yeah I suppose I was just doing a sanity check and making sure I wasn't just being a difficult prick. I'm also kinda thinking if I put it out here, one of you guys might just have a better suggestion that works for both parties. I've noticed lots of very practical...

Wrong accessories on delivery - what would you do?

It's pretty clearly specified on the order form what type was ordered... nobody's questioning that. By irreversibly modifying the body I reckon it's as clear as ordering a white car and getting a black one. Thanks for the reply though... I'll put that down as one vote for going with what I...

Wrong accessories on delivery - what would you do?

Hi all, Well I went and picked my brand new D22 yesterday and I couldn't be happier... well a little bit happier I suppose... I started a thread here (http://www.navara.asia/showthread.php?p=217964#post217964) prior to placing my order to figure out what style of tonneau cover to go for...

    Genuine Tonneau Covers

Well... went and picked up my shiny new black D22 yesterday. Ordered it with the new style tonneau after taking the good advice here, and guess what it came with... yes that's right, the older loop style! Get wrong the other way around and it would be a simple fix, but now the tub has holes...

    Genuine Tonneau Covers

Nah trublu I reckon that's the logical assumption - it's surprising to hear they made the new style retain that flexibility. Truth be told I reckon I actually prefer the look of the loop style better myself too. Gonna try the new ones out though.

    Genuine Tonneau Covers

Thanks heaps for the replies. Sounds like it will work well. I did have the thought like trublu about being able to stretch the loop style cover over higher loads with the older style. Sounds like even that will be OK with the newer style going by what ourd40 says. Thanks again!

    Genuine Tonneau Covers

Yeah not a tub liner... sounds more like what ourd40 is describing. On the quote it just says "Tonneau Cvr-Soft Underlip Tub". I haven't figured out how to post an image here yet, but it's the one that's displayed on the Nissan website under the D22 accessories section...

    Genuine Tonneau Covers

Hi all, Does anyone have any experience with the soft tonneau covers that Nissan sell with brand new D22's? The one on my quote says it's an under lip cover (I think the one with no Nissan logo). I'm weighing up pro's and con's between that style and the standard bungee loop style. My gut...
