I have a squealing noise when under hard acceleration but if I slowly accelerate up to speed no noise at all.
I haven't loss any power and idle is good doesn't change unless aircon kicks in.
Have checked belts and tensioned up power steering belt to which I assume is tight enough not sure how tight they should be.
Any help would be great.

There's an excellent chance that it's the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the turbocharger. Mine did it, sounded like a badly played clarinet. The gasket had thinned out and started acting like a reed, and the harder the exhaust flowed the more shrill it got.

I should have figured out how to play the national anthem on it, but I just wasn't enthusiastic enough to live with the noise, so I had it fixed.

Check yours for sooty emissions around the exhaust and EGR tube.

Will do thanks for that.

Mine did the same thing as Old Tony except the car was going in for a service before our holiday and I asked the mechanic to check the manifold to turbo gasket. I was told that they couldn't replicate the noise so no real problem. Coming home from holiday, the gasket blew out and the DPF failed. Copious amount of soot in the engine bay. A guy on this forum that supplies modified DPF sensors, thought it likely that it was the DPF that caused the manifold/turbo gasket to fail.
