Hi all

Recently had a 2 - 3" suspension lift on the 08/09 D40 and after 8000K i'm getting a clunking sound coming from the rear leafs. Not so much when i drive in a straight line but when i'm turning and go over an obstacle of some sort eg. curb (turning into driveway).

The ride is very good (handles corrugations like they don't exist) and far better than original but it's bloody annoying. I'm also getting a slight noise from the from.

Any suggestions on the cause?

Before you say take it back to the installer, i had it installed in the east and am now located in WA. I rang them and the sales guy said it may need caster wedges to angle the diff up??

Lovell springs
EFS leafs and shackles
Lovell shocks all round

Check the rear leafs at the front eye point. Where the spring pack wraps around the bush and pin.

You may find the leaf wrap is rubbing on the mount and making noise.

If the secondary wrap is very close and goes up inside the mount this is a possible cause.

I had to cut the leaf down a little to get clearance here.
