Ok let's not try turning it over any more until we're absolutely certain there's fuel in the pump, or that pump could end up being damaged.

First thing to try: squeeze the primer bulb. It should only take 4 to 5 squeezes before it's firm. If that's how it goes, your fuel system is probably good and you can happily crank away (about 10 seconds tops with a 5 minute wait between if possible).

Do you smell diesel in the exhaust? If you do, the injectors are opening and sending fuel in, it's just not combusting. Try something: remove the hose from the front of the turbocharger and spray some "Start ya bastard!" in the intake while someone cranks it. Does it start? Does it keep running? Does it cough and die fairly quickly?

You might check the EGR tube and try blocking it. If the EGR valve is stuck open, any small amount of combustion will flood the intake choking the engine so it won't run. Test this by blocking the EGR (just make a copy of the gasket between the gold tube and the EGR valve and don't make the large hole).
