Heater a control panel problem

Hi guys got a problem with my Ac control panel It won't let me change were the air comes out from eg feet, window, face so on iv had a look up from the clutch pedal and it seems the wires has stretched just want to know if any body has had this problem and if so how did they fix it I'm going to pull the dash out this weekend and have a look any help would be appreciated thanks

when i first got my 02DX who ever had it before obviously only used the 1 setting on the panel, so when i tried to change it to my preferred setting it bent the wire, i got one from a wrecker for free when i was getting some other parts, it is just a case of removing the old one, and putting the new one in. just remove the centre panel, and follow it around. if memory serves there was nothing to actual unscrew or anything after removing the panel, just hooking in the new wire the same way the old one come out.
