Hey guys my engine light is staying on i changed the filter and its still staying on when i start it up its fine for about 5 or so sec then light comes on and drops prower what do you think it could be

What year is your navara? If it is post 2006, my suggestion would be to go on eBay and get a bluetooth obd2 thing or a few bucks, then find someone with an android phone and download the free torque app, plug in the obd2, connect to the phone and do a scan for fault codes, that should tell you the problem.
what engine does it have?
zd30 engine ones are not obd2.
most likely you have a poor seal on the filter and is sucking in air.

Surely you can do a self diagnostic, it blinks the error code so at least you know where to start looking.

This is works on a 2008 and 2011 model so should work for most.
