Question came up around the campfire:

Are difflocks supposed to be used in 4LO only?

I thought so but others had different point of view, what do you guys think?

Cheers

I would say that MOST of the time where lockers get used are in the same areas where you will be in 4L, BUT i dont know of any set fast rule that says YOU MUST BE in 4L i mean you could use a rear locker while still in 2H if you want.

You can use them in 4 high or 2 , but why would you want to ? and its harder on your mechanicals, iv'e done it before by accident and to no determent

Use the diff lock in 4H even more than in 4LO.

In 4HI the wheels can spin a lot faster = a lot more energy. If the wheel is up and spinning, the damage is done when it bites.

If you go to the muster, and their is a muddy flat patch of grass, I feel sure somebody will show you 2h with the difflock on in the circlework area.
