Don't get me wrong, once it is up and going, i think it is handy and more versitile than buying all the stuff individually. It is just a lot of work.

The best reference i have had is Mp3Car. Lots of info from many people who are running many carpc's, plus they have a store that is very well priced that specifically stocks carpc hardware.

Turns out my last few posts were quitter talk. I finally have a lot of the software bugs sorted and it is working how i want it. Just took a bit of time, research and determination.

Hopefully I too will have a solution to this very soon, I have several options but at this stage none of them are 100% perfect for my needs or wants so I'm just waiting for a little bit and will see where I go once I have all the software running on my laptop.

So as it stands.

CarPC is going along quite nicely.

Garmin Mobile PC and Aus maps works well as does OziExplorer and Hema maps.
Still have to figure out how to remove engine humm from audio :dontknow:
Mobile internet via Iphone tethering works well.
