I actually need to bolt them up but I just mounted some 265/75-r16 Insa Turbo Traction Tracks to some 16x7 Steel wheels and sitting next to the bog stock D22 it looks like I'll have a bees dick's worth of room for the tyres once the suspension compresses.

I'll get photos of the before and after but this looks like it'll be fun. :p

No lift...stock.

--Update--

I would not recommend the conversion without a lift kit. There's just too many points that will rub especially once the wheels approach lock.

..or even not long after they leave dead center! Throw in some uneven terrain and I think you're looking at a world of <Refer to Pvt. Leonard 'Gomer Pyle' Lawrence>

I'll agree with a little massaging of the guards and driving on the road with care you could get away with it but if you have ANY inclination to go offroad you WILL need a lift kit.

Looks VERY horn though!

Oh and I'd recommend removing the mudflaps every so often just to clean the mud and crap out of the sills!

Such a retarded design!

Just fitted 265/75 MTZ on Mickey T Classic II, no obvious scrubbing, but I will find out for sure tomorrow :)

Hey guys,
Man this website is gettin addictive!
Scottybobcat wants to take me out 4b ing so gotta make sure my tyres are up to scratch.
Would 265 75 16's work in a stock D22?
Have heard it can make them a bit slow down low?
I'm currently running BFG at's 265 70 16 but only need to replace 2 so I think the obvious move is just to keep the same..... unless I find a cheap set on eBay!!
Cheers guys!

315 75 16's all the way :)

D22 Tyre sizes for Towing

Hey all. Newby here.
Just purchased a D22/2003. It has a 3 inch lift and Cooper S/T Maxx 265/75/16LT tyres.
Has the standard alloy rims.
Question is, Would the higher tyres affect towing capacity?
I bought the vehicle for the 3 ton tow.
Any help would be great.

Hey guys, I have a 2011 D22, at the moment it has the stock 265/70/16's on it with some 16x7 dynamic steelies..they have a 7 offset. Just done a 2 inch lift on it and now looking to put 265/75/16's on the steelies I have on it now. With the mud flaps taken off there is about 12mm clearance at full lock on flat ground. How will I go putting the bigger tyres on it?

Hey guys just to make sure i am clear on this, i can fit a 265/75 r 16 on stock rims(Alloy) with no lift etc ( 2011 d 22 ) it is a work car i do a lot of K's on average 1100km's a week, atm looking at tyre options as it seems very limited in the 265 70 r 16 range. Need a set of AT's around the $180 mark

Just trim the mudflap as others have said and you won't have any dramas. I just put 265/75 on my stock 2012 nav and no scrubbing at all.

No chance muddies or chunky at will fit mate as the tread is normally higher than normal roadies. Would love to see a pic with the 7 offset.

That looks sweeeet, did you notice any difference in your speedo?

Has it had a 2 inch lift fitted?

Cheers

Kade
I Pm'd hodge about his lift it's 2 inch I have toyo mt 265 75 16 fitted to my navara with no lift at first I removed the front mud flaps they fit nice an snug with no lift the only same thing I had a problem with was they just scrap the front of the back flair
And I haven't been booked for speeding yet so you could say the speedo is still somewhat correct as I always sit on 104 104 on the black top hop this helps
