We have a major leak in the heater core of our 96 D21 tray back with TD27 engine.
What is involved to remove and replace the heater core.
I am going to disconnect the hoses from the thermostat housing and cap the outlets off to get me out of strife but will have to fix it eventually.

All help and advice welcome.

Cheers Ric.

Heater core

DON'T BOTHER. I have the same problem in my 89 D21 and I tried to get the core out of another D21 in the paddock. I think the heater core is the first thing they put in the cab when they make them. Everything between the firewall and the steering wheel has to be removed. Then try putting it all back in.:violin2:

The newer dash is easier to remove, but it's still a big job. It's still the first item they install.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I thought as much.

Any ideas on how I can repair it by using an additive to the coolant? Do you think it would work.

This truck has turned into my biggest disappointment of all Nissans and Datsuns I've owned.
Only good thing is the mighty TD27 engine.

Cheers Ric
