Ive had mine from brand new in 2006 and has done it every time it was parked on a slope for any period of time, once you bring revs up it disappears, my understanding these lights only measure level not pressure so if your oil level is correct i wouldn't worry about it.

cracked head, the heads are made of cheese, slight over temp and they are knackered

When the SCV is replaced you have to do a fuel pump reset (pedal dance) that would solve that problem and perhaps a vacuum leak check all vacum hoses and MAP sensor on intercooler or Boost solenoid is cactus.........good luck

Hi Brains trust, i have a intermittent starting issue, interested to know if anyone has had similar or knows a fix? YD25 2005 on occasions I will glow to start, however i can hear the thermal fan kick in and engine will turn over but not fire, turn key to off try again thermal fan does not kick...

dunno..........like old tony said you obviosly got some kind of leak if you hear a hissing noise

Clutch fan faulty, thermal fan not working, or if in fact if it has overheated at one stage cracked head, the heads in these engines are made of cheese and the factory temp gauges are rubbish so slight movement on the gauge = good chance cracked head

Looks to me like a crease in the front panel, missing bolts on hot side of turbo pipe mount and a blowby leak and check your radiator caps on on the right way hard to tell from picture the radiator should have the blank cap and expansion tank should have spring loaded one

i dont believe the sensor measures pressure, if you parked on a slope for a while they tend to do that

Those quotes included the parts however these cars are at best are worth 10k so to pay 4K for a chain I just can’t see that being commercially viable when mines due I probably send it to the wreckers

I got a quote from a place in Kelmscott everyone raves about however he wanted like over 4k from memory and doesnt use the YD25 kit and Osborne park Nissan quoted just under 4k if you have the parts already put up a request on auto guru they will send you thru quotes

Hey brains trust How difficult is it to drop the gearbox at home with only a trolley jack, two average wanna be mechanics, pretty confident in replacing the actual clutch just not sure as few people have told me you really need it up on a hoist.

Apparently timing chains are all the same on all Yd25s, I believe the problem occurred when Nissan tried to pump out more KW from the same engine in the later models, the only thing that was changed was the inlet outlet ports, otherwise engine is exactly the same, these engines do not like old...
