Hi there everyone.

My names Alex; from New Zealand- new user here!

I have a question regarding the differences between Thai and Spanish built D40s.

Wanting to know if the fuels tanks are the same or are they different style/shape; in that case not compatible with each other?

I have a Thai built 2013 ute which needs a new tank as its damaged and not passing a WOF, I've found heaps of Spanish built tanks but don't wanna go out and buy the wrong part!

Thanks everyone

Here I have Thai (First pic and Second Pic Spanish) same model tank but they look different!

I have a 2011 Thai and replaced the standard tank with an ARB 132 litre long range. The fuel level sensor unit and connection plate that bolts into the top of the tank is different between Thai and Spain. A Thai unit can't be fitted into a Spanish tank and vice versa. The ARB tanks have different part numbers for Thai and Spanish and they double checked with me requesting my VIN to make sure they supplied the correct tank because the fuel sending unit from the OEM tank has to be installed into the ARB long range tank.

There are many differences between Spain and Thai builds that are too numerous to list. I've learnt from experience that you're far better off to use the correct parts in Thai built vehicles.

Note it helps to answer your queries if you post your vehicle details ... year, model, engine, auto/manual, Thai or Spain etc.
