4wd on dash

when i start my d40 up the digital 4x4 sign on the dash the top wheels flash on it ? it still drives ok and when you use the 4wd switch it goes off can any one help its doing my head in cos i think its going to be expensive !!

If they only light up for a second or so I think that's normal. But if they keep going for longer there might be an issue. I wouldn't panic just yet though it could be something as simple as electrics or a sensor.

Its the computer checking the sensor's.

Nothing to worry about.

I'v just got my D40 back after being without it for 19 days reagrding 4wd lights. This is the second time it had been in for the same problem last time I was without the car for over 20 days.

My diagram had all 4 wheels illuminated and 4 lo written under it even when it was in 2wd.

All three sensors have been changed on the transfer case twice.
First started seeing this around 80,000km it now has 105,000 all highway use

I am happy with the power and torque it makes, gets great economy so I am gonna leave the computer.
