Yep. I hired a tracked wood chipper and got it bogged on a steep slope. The more I tried to move it the more it tipped. Don’t worry… I have a D40. In a bit of a panic I rushed around and bought as many tow ropes as I could. Called my trusty dad in to pull with the truck as I full reversed the chipper back up the slope. In the heat of battle I had left the truck in 2WD and given the advice of, “Just go for it”. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Had I put it in 4LO, none of the following would have happened. With revs at the max at both ends and comms via two way radios, messages weren’t clear. Dad was telling me that there was a lot of smoke and wheels were spinning, had I heard that I would have stopped. But I didn’t. My response was that it was nearly out and to keep going. End result- an 11 on the drive like Back 2 The Future and an absolutely smoked and fluffy clutch. £800! Should’ve lost the deposit and got the hire company to do it 😁
