    D22 Heater issues

Just to jump in here and put a slightly different twist on things. (2011 D22, YD25, single cab) My heater works really well if you want to warm things up, pretty damn hot in fact! But turn it off and the cab still get warm in traffic. Almost to the point of needing the AC on at 28c outside temp...

    Removing a Turbo Timer

Took a while to get back to you, just got my mechanic to remove it when he did a service the other week. All good, bloody annoying thing!

    D22 Ser 5 or MY 8?

I've recently taken on a 2011 D22 with the YD25 engine. Last Tuesday, my other one got washed away in the Brisbane flooding so I got another to replace it. My old one had electric windows and electric locking. This one is manual everything! Which is which and what other differences will I find?

    Removing a Turbo Timer

I've just picked up a 2011 D22 with the YD25 engine. At some stage someone has installed a HKS Type 1 Turbo Timer. In less than 24 hours and half a dozen trips, this thing has given me a royal case of the irits!!! So, how do I get rid of the rotten thing?

YD25 D22 Suction Control Valve Removal!

I knew it! Who'd a thunk it, going through the washer nozzles! Nor did I think of going through the wheel arches! Thanks Old.Tony, for the tip. "If" I ever have the misfortune of having to redo the SCV, then I'll certainly give that route a go. A bit like you, by the sounds of it, my eating...

YD25 D22 Suction Control Valve Removal!

I have a 2011 D22 4x2 with the YD25 engine approaching 300,000 kms, showing all of the symptoms of the SCV and Pressure Relief Valves being on the way out. Managed the situation for a while by babying things to and from work, just being gentle and sensible. One of the offspring wants dear ol'...

    d22 2.5cr egr mod???

So, 6 months since I plated the EGR Cooling tube and I've noticed a couple of things that may interest some folk. Firstly, I travel about 600km a fortnight to and from work and I reckon that I'm saving about 6-8 litres of fuel per top up. Cost of a pizza at least! Secondly, no matter how hard I...

    d22 2.5cr egr mod???

The best part is that I've got enough left over to make another 6 at least! If someone one around Brisbane needs one .......

    d22 2.5cr egr mod???

Hardest part of the mod was trying to clear the engine bay of the oily black residue! Half a litre of TruckWash, brush and Karcher, just about sorted!

    d22 2.5cr egr mod???

OMG! This has to be the BESTEST Free Mod that I've ever done! Why wasn't I told before? Just after buying my '11 D22 six years ago, I had the same problem as I'm having now (lots and lots of oily black smoke staining the tops of the mud guards and the entire engine bay, loss of power and...

    d22 2.5cr egr mod???

Thanks guys but mine will be mounted on the exhaust side, need the additional thickness due to heat consideration.

    d22 2.5cr egr mod???

So, I've got a piece of "Corten" plate (stuff they make shipping containers out of) that's free, do you reckon that would do the job?

    d22 2.5cr egr mod???

Thanks again for the heads up, for the plate and the website. I'll post how it goes!

    d22 2.5cr egr mod???

Thanks Old.Tony, I'm sure I can find an old piece of plate somewhere. Would the plates supplied through mobs like Chipit and the likes be up to the task and heat ranges that you mentioned?

    d22 2.5cr egr mod???

Can the blanking plate be mounted on the exhaust inlet side of the EGR Cooling tube? Mine is venting oily exhaust smoke under the bonnet again and I was thinking that a plate might fix this.
